During a routine inspection
We found that people gave their consent for care and support by signing their documentation or by agreeing that care could be given at the time it was offered or asked for. One person said, 'I ask for support when I need it and so I give my permission for the staff to help me".
We found that people and their relatives were satisfied with the care they received and that staff were caring and supportive. Care plans met peoples' needs. People said, 'I have everything I need. I am happy. The food is good and I have a pleasant room" and "Oh it is very comfortable here, the girls are lovely".
We found that medication was handled appropriately and support with it was provided at the level required by the people that used the service.
Staff were appropriately recruited and trained at the level required by the service and there was a simple system in place for obtaining peoples' views of the service and their satisfaction with regard to the care and support they received.
