How this check was done

Our judgement

Not all written records protected the privacy and dignity of people.

User experience

We received no comments from people living at Arlington House in relation to this outcome area.

Other evidence

During our visit we saw that not all care plans contained an accurate record of people’s needs and wishes in their care plans. The manager told us that she was in the process of updating the care plan files for people.

We saw that a staff handbook diary was in use to record appointments and messages for staff. In addition, we saw that personal information was being written regarding service users actions and needs for the day in the book. Personal information regarding situations relevant to individuals must be recorded in their personal records in order to protect and respect people’s privacy.
