During a routine inspection
We spoke with the three people living in the home. They told us that they felt it was a very good place to be. One said, "I like being here." Another described Cremers Drift as "...one of the top care homes." They said that they would not still be there if they didn't like it. People told us they were able to spend time in their own rooms or any of the communal areas. We found no concerns about safety.
Everyone told us about their care and the things that interested them. They said they were treated with respect and confirmed that they had discussed what went into their care plans. They were also able to tell us about their health and how they made decisions about that and any treatment they needed.
Information about risks to people and promoting their safety had been reviewed to make sure it was still valid and work had started to look in more detail at people's needs and goals. One person told us that they knew a restriction in place was to keep them safe. Another said that they thought it was important people were "...treated fairly..." and that others should "...see the person not the disability." They told us that they felt this happened in the home.
People identified the person providing most of the day to day support and management, as someone who was always there to go to if they had any problems or needed to discuss anything.
