During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people that used the service. They all told us that they were very happy with the service that they received. One person told us 'I couldn't manage without them'. Another person told us 'I'm satisfied with everything that they do'.

We spoke with a staff member who worked at the service. They told us 'We keep people as independent as possible and enable them to stay in their own homes'.

We saw that people were involved in a meeting when they started to use the service to discuss their needs and identify a plan of care to ensure that their needs were met.

We found that people's care records were regularly reviewed to ensure that they continued to meet people's needs.

People told us that they aware of the complaints procedure and they had a copy of it at their home.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with the relatives of the two people using the service and they told us they were very happy with the level of care their relatives received. One relative said 'they are very good; they look after her medicines and give her a wash.' Another relative told us 'the carers keep an eye on her, she knows all the carers by their first names and they always turn up on time.'

We found that staff were trained to meet the needs of the people who use the service.

However we found that care plans, risk assessments and monitoring of care did not reflect the needs of the people who use the service.

During a routine inspection

People we spoke with told us that they were respected and that they made decisions about their care. In review meetings they influenced the way their support was provided. People said 'The support I receive is very good.' 'Care workers carry out their job in a professional manner when they assist me.'

Staff were always respectful and trustworthy. People said that that care workers were well trained, competent in what they did and undertook their work in a professional manner. Grangefield Home Care made people feel safe due to the safety checks undertaken within the environment. They also said that care workers made them feel secure and protected. Staff would always ensure that needs were met and would ask if there was more they could assist with.

They all confirmed that they were invited to give their views on the quality of the service. Everyone was very positive about the care and support they received.
