We had conversations with two of the four people who lived at The Gables. Two of the four people living at the home were at day centres for the day. One person was willing to have a brief conversation with us, and appeared quite happy at The Gables.

We used observations and information received before and after the visit to decide whether the service met peoples' preferences and choices. We saw that people get visitors or visit others, and that people had regular contact with external facilities, agencies or professionals. People were seen to talk with staff and each other in a free, spontaneous manner.

The registered manager was available throughout the inspection.

One person told us they had enjoyed their stay at The Gables, and would be returning home at the end of the week. We used observations and information received before and after the visit to decide whether the service meets peoples' preferences and choices. We observed that privacy and dignity were respected during our visit. We saw that people get visitors or visit others frequently. People were seen to interact with staff and each other in a free, spontaneous manner. People said they had enjoyed their stay at The Gables. Others where seen and heard to interact with each other and with staff in a relaxed atmosphere and environment.
