All Inspections

During a routine inspection

We looked at the support plans for three people using the service and saw these gave a good level of detail to inform staff how to support each person.

We spoke with four people using the service and one relative. All of the people we spoke with commented positively on the care and support offered by the service. One person said, “I am independent and the staff promote that. All the staff are nice and kind, some are exceptionally good.” Another person said, “I feel at home here and comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble.”

During our visit we found that people were protected from abuse or the risk of harm.

We spoke with four people using the service. All of them told us they felt they and their belongings were safe. One person said, “I feel safe and my belongings are safe.” Another person said. “I feel safe. I have a drawer in my room which I can lock. My belongings are safe.”

There were effective recruitment and selection processes in place.

The provider was listening and responding to people’s complaints and concerns.

People told us they felt safe. A person told us they were happy with the home. They said, 'It's a lovely place and I have a really nice room.' Another person told us that no changes to the environment were necessary and said, 'I have a lovely room.'

A person told us the staff were very kind and well trained. They also said, 'Sometimes it would be helpful to have more staff at peak times like breakfasts and getting people ready for bed.' Another person told us there were enough staff and the staff were well trained.

A person told us staff listened to them and they knew who to speak to if they were unhappy. Another person told us they would complain to the manager if they needed to and they said, 'The home is very good. Very clean and well run.' They also said, 'You can say what you think here.'
