During a routine inspection

We spoke with eight people who used the service and two visiting relatives. All of these people told us that they were able to express their views and were involved in making decisions about their care and treatment.

People who used the service understood the care and treatment choices available to them. One person using the service told us, 'I know what is happening; the staff tell me about how they are managing my health. I am very happy here. '

People who used the service expressed their views and were involved in making decisions about their care and treatment. A person using the service told us, 'I have choices with my meals; the staff are cooking a prawn stir fry just for me, because that's what I wanted today.'

People who used the service had their needs assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan.

People who used the service had regular access to NHS services. This ensured that staff could identify and respond quickly to any changes in the individual's health needs.

People who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.

People who used the service, their representatives and staff were asked for their views about their care and treatment and they were acted on.
