During a routine inspection

At the time of our visit there were two people using the service and one member of staff. We looked at care records for both people, spoke to both people, observed people being cared for and spoke with the manager and staff member on duty.

We saw that people were asked for their consent and where a person lacked capacity to make a decision, formal mental capacity assessments and best interest decisions were carried out with relevant people.

People's needs were assessed and care plans developed that included people's needs and personal wishes. People that we spoke with told us they were happy with the care and support being provided. Comments included, 'this is my home and I do what I want'.

We found that people were cared for in a clean and hygienic environment by suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff.

Staff we spoke to told us they felt supported.

We found that the provider had effective systems in place to monitor the quality of the service and found that people's views were taken into account and acted upon.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two of the three people who lived at the home and they said they were happy at the home. Comments included: 'It's very comfortable. I get all the support I need,' and, 'The staff are very good and give you help when you need it.'

We also spoke to two family members and they told us that their relatives were supported by the staff to receive the care they needed. One person told us, ' I couldn't be happier with the care the home proivdes'.

Staff said that they would always respect people's wishes. When asked what they would do if they felt there may be a conflict between a person's wishes and their care needs they told us that they would speak with the manager.
