Each person had a care plan in place which stated their individual needs. People had access to a range of services including hairdresser, chiropodist and GP'S.

The home was clean and there was a robust system in place to ensure the risk of infection was reduced.

The staff were supported by the registered manager. Training had been provided for areas such as manual handling, fire safety and infection control.

The provider had an effective system in place to identify, assess and manage risks to the health, safety and welfare of people who used the service and others.

The staff respected people's likes and dislikes of the people that lived at the home. People were able to choose what food they would like. We heard staff talking with people in a respectful manner.

Staff demonstrated a sound knowledge of the care needs of most of the people that lived in the home. Everyone had a care plan in place that informed and directed staff on how to care for a person.

There was not an effective system in place to monitor and address some of the specific care needs of the people that lived in the home.

Staff told us they were aware of the different types of abuse and how to respond to any allegations. The home did not hold any money for people that lived in the home.

Staff felt supported by the manager. However we did not see evidence that all staff had received formal supervisions. There was not an effective system in place to ensure that staff were trained and competent to deliver care to some of the people who were unwell and/or frail.
