During a routine inspection

People who lived in the home told us ''staff treat me with respect'' and another person told us "the staff are very polite...and very helpful." We found that staff communicated respectfully and sensitively with people who used the service, at all times. People told us that they could make choices about day to day activities for themselves. We saw that staff respected people's individuality and diversity.

People's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. During our visit we looked at four care plans. We found the care plans were detailed and informative. We spoke to people who described the care as "good" and "very good." Another person told us "they (staff) are so good to me...they are wonderful."

People who use the service were protected from the risk of abuse. People supported by the home told us that they felt very safe with the staff in the home and did not have cause to raise any concerns. Comments included "oh yes I feel very safe here" and "I do feel safe here and the staff are well trained to make sure I am safe here."

People were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard. People told us "the staff are well trained and know their job very well" another person told us "the staff are doing a very good job taking care of us." A visitor told us "the staff seem very knowledgeable."
