Peer review groups

The practice organised peer review groups for other local practices. This gave staff an opportunity to discuss cases with the dentists and to offer support and training.

Training and development

The practice provided a range of training and development opportunities:

  • Foundation dentists, local dentists and dental nurses could shadow the services to gain experience as part of their training and development.
  • There was an education centre for all staff, which offered training for dental nurses on sedation, oral health education and radiation. There were also courses for dentists who had a specific interest and could offer mentorship and development.
  • Online training and policies were available through the IT systems.
