Chair of Healthwatch England and CQC non-executive Board member, Anna Bradley has announced that she will be stepping down from her positions. Anna joined in July 2012.

The Department of Health has already started the process of recruiting Anna's successor, with a view to making the appointment before March.

Jane Mordue, currently deputy chair of Healthwatch England, will act as interim chair and be on CQC’s board until Anna’s successor is appointed.

David Behan said:

"I'd like to thank Anna Bradley for the important contribution she has made as a CQC board member at a very important stage in CQC's development.

"Also, as chair of Healthwatch England, Anna has steered an organisation from its inception to a point where it is recognized widely: that's a notable achievement in just a few years. Under Anna's leadership, the Healthwatch 'brand' has become established nationally and locally as a strong voice for people who use health and care services."
