CQC warns provider that it must make improvements

When the Care Quality Commission visited The Limes unannounced on 20th and 21st July 2013 we found that the service was failing to meet the national standards that people should be able to expect.

As a result, CQC has issued a/formal warning to West London Mental Health NHS Trust telling them that they must improve in the following areas by 8th October 2013:

  • Regulation 11 - Safeguarding people who use services from abuse People who use the service were not protected from the risk of abuse because the provider had not taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening. Incidents of abuse that had occurred at the service had not been identified and referred to the safeguarding team. Staff did not demonstrate a clear understanding of their responsibilities to report safeguarding issues.

CQC inspectors will return unannounced in due course to check whether the required improvements have been made. For more details of the findings from the inspection in July 2013. Read the full report here.
