CQC warns Sevacare (UK) Limited that they must make improvements

When the Care Quality Commission visited Sevacare – Northampton on 27 September 2013, we found that the service was failing to meet the national standards that people should be able to expect.

As a result, CQC has issued formal warnings to Sevacare (UK) Limited telling them that they must improve in the following areas by 2 December 2013:

  • Regulation 9, (Outcome 4) Care and Welfare of people who use services The service was failing to ensure people were protected against the risks of receiving inappropriate or unsafe care or treatment.
  • Regulation 10, (Outcome 16) Assessing and monitoring the quality of service provision The service was not protecting people against the risks of receiving unsafe care and treatment by not effectively assessing and monitoring the quality of service provided.

If the required improvements are not made within the set timescale, CQC has a range of enforcement powers which include restricting the services that a provider can offer, or, in the most serious cases, suspending or cancelling a service. CQC can also issue financial penalty notices and cautions, or prosecute the provider for failing to meet national standards.
