When the Care Quality Commission visited Cepen Lodge unannounced on 8th July 2013, we found that the service was failing to meet the national standards that people should be able to expect.

As a result, CQC has issued a formal warning to Avery Homes Chippenham Limited telling them that they must improve in the following areas by 30 August 2013:

  • Regulation 13 (Outcome 9): Management of medicines

People were not protected against the risks associated with medicines because the provider did not have appropriate arrangements in place to manage medicines.

CQC inspectors will return unannounced in due course to check whether the required improvements have been made.

For more details of the findings from the inspection in July 2013, read the full report here.
