This accessibility statement applies to the 'Give feedback on care' service.
This website is run by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts
- zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We've also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
We know some heading and link elements could cause confusion for users of some assistive technology. We use a CAPTCHA tool to authenticate users which, while having both visual and audio options, could cause issues for some users.
'Give feedback on care' has links to other websites that are not fully accessible, including the main CQC website.
Reporting accessibility problems with this website
We're always looking to improve the accessibility of this website. If you find any accessibility problems or think we're not meeting accessibility requirements, contact webteam@cqc.org.uk.
Enforcement procedure
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’). If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
Technical information about this website's accessibility
CQC is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
On some pages of the service, not all heading elements are in a sequentially-descending order. This may cause some issues with navigation for users of assistive technology.
How we tested this website
This website was last tested on 27 January 2026. The test was carried out by our own in-house testing and other subject matter experts in two stages: quality assurance (QA) and user acceptance testing (UAT).
We tested:
- our start page
- our search page
- our search results page
- a selection of pages that make up the journey taken by users selecting ‘Good’, ‘Bad’ and ‘Both good and bad’ to describe their experiences of care.
We tested for use of Dragon and JAWS at the QA stage but were unable to test JAWS in our UAT stage. As a result, we will be commissioning some dedicated external testing with JAWS.
