Additional information
I am Chair of the Clinicians’ Group at the Association of British Insurers (ABI). I cannot immediately see any conflict this would pose but if there was a potential one I would raise this.
I have previously advised a number of different healthcare and digital health organisations. I would state my previous relationship if any organisation I worked with was a subject of discussion as part of my role with the CQC. If I consider taking up any further advisory work where there was a risk of perception of conflict of interest I would discuss this with the CQC Chair prior to taking up the appointment.
My wife and sister both work in the NHS – one at manager, one at specialty registrar level. I would note this if either organisation they worked at was a subject of discussion as part of my role with the CQC.
I also note that I was a non-executive director of South West London and St. George’s Mental Health NHS Trust between 2015-2019. I would make similar disclosures as appropriate.
