Brief description

The agency provides care and support to people who live in their own apartments in a purpose-built three-storey block. It differs from other agencies in that its office and staff are based in the same building as the service users accommodation. Staff are based at the scheme 24 hours per day and care is not provided to any other people than those living in the apartment block.

The accommodation is owned and managed by First Wessex Housing Group. Fernhill Care Ltd are the registered providers who offer the domiciliary care and people who use the service have a tenancy agreement. People are able to ask for assistance from the agency staff at any time of the day via a call point system.

Tenants who live in their own flats within Laburnum House are referred by Adult Social Services who assess their needs and ensure the care and support will be available.
