Brief description

Wokingham Domiciliary Care Service is provided by Wokingham District Council. Its Statement of Purpose says 'The purpose of our Domiciliary Care Service is to provide effective and efficient personal and domestic care to assessed vulnerable individuals within their own homes and within the community.' At the time of the inspection this support was provided through three teams: the Long Term Support (LTS) Team; the Short Term Assessment and Re-ablement Team (START) and a dedicated team, who are part of the long term support team, providing support to people living in a close care housing development.
 
The service recognises and values diversity.

It operates an equal opportunities policy and it has policies and procedures in place to ensure ethnicity, religion, preferred language, culture and dietary preferences are all addressed in the assessment of need and delivery of service. It also addresses whether these needs have been satisfactorily addressed in its quality review process.
 
Service users are financially assessed for there ability to pay and weekly charges vary from zero to £378.84 per week.
