Brief description
Abacus Care Beds, Herts, Bucks Ltd is a Nursing Agency covering the three counties. They are based in Dunstable and also provide domiciliary agency services and training. This report reflects findings solely from the nurse agency.
The agency provides nurses for Nursing Homes, Day Centres, Clinics, Hospitals, School nursing and Home care. At the time of the inspection nurses were only placed in care homes. At the time of the inspection the agency had five qualified nurses registered with them, however only three are actively working at present.
Abacus Head Office is based in Lancashire and provides the policies and procedures as part of the franchising arrangements. The local office manages their own booking system and interviews and places all staff. Hourly rates for this service range from £22.21 per hour, to £25.45 per hour, depending on the time and day of the week that would be worked by the nurse.
