Brief description
Kathleen Rutland Home For the Blind offers care for up to 47 older people who have a sensory impairment and up to 20 people with dementia. The care home is set in its own grounds with smaller residential bungalows for people with sensory impairment of sight and hearing live independently. The care home offers accommodation on ground and first floor, which can be accessed via the lift , stair lift or the stairs located throughout the home.
All the bedrooms are single with en-suite facility and close to bathrooms. There are choices of communal sitting areas for people to use and a large dining room adjacent to the kitchen. The home is a smoke free area with the exception of a small lounge where people are able to smoke.
The home's brochure provides information about the service to prospective and current service users and includes the terms and conditions of the stay.
This is available in other formats such as tape. Fees are based in accordance with the assessment of care needs. People that live at the home pay additional charges for hairdressing, personal toiletries, private chiropody and holidays.
