The Care Quality Commission checks whether hospitals, care homes and care services are meeting government standards. Visit our website at www.cqc.org.uk.
Advisory groups
Advisory groups are created when we believe a project would benefit from the insight and input of our external stakeholders.
Groups that are no longer active can be found in Previous advisory groups.
The domiciliary care group is a group of external stakeholders looking at changes to domiciliary care regulation. The group examines at the most effective methods for regulating domiciliary care services and the best mechanisms for capturing the views of service users.
A domiciliary care advisory group was also run during 2011; their notes are available in Previous advisory groups.
NHS general practice advisory group consists of stakeholders who are providers of NHS general practice and other primary medical services and who are required to register with the CQC by April 2013.
This group provides expertise and experience to inform the approach of our registration process, comment and advice on the content of our pilots as well as advice on the presentation of results from the pilot.
This external advisory group supports our Dignity and Nutrition Inspection programme for care homes. The group advises us on what should we be looking at in the nature of inspections and the desired outcomes.
The purpose of the group is to provide experience and expertise on the approach and scope of our Mental Health Act annual report 2012. The group will offer comment and advice on the identified themes for the report.
Stakeholder register
The stakeholder register is the core list of CQC national stakeholders used to draw up members for each advisory group. We also invite members from other areas such as service users, LINks, experts by experience or other professionals.
