Equality and human rights
Our equality and human rights scheme means that we put individuals at the heart of health and social care services.
Our work focuses on people who find themselves in vulnerable circumstances, including those with mental health problems, a learning disability or long-term health conditions.
Meeting your needs
Under law, all providers of health and social care must meet standards laid down by the Government. The way we monitor providers against these standards gives us a real opportunity to focus on equality and human rights.
When we inspect services, we make sure that providers consider your needs, such as your:

We also make sure that your human rights are protected by checking that services treat you fairly, with respect and dignity. We also ensure that you are given choice and control over the care you receive.

The eQuality Voices group influences and shapes the way we promote equality and human rights.
The group is made up of 15 people, all of whom use health and social care services.
