Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

The registered provider must inform the Care Quality Commission in writing, of the action taken, if an assessment demonstrates that a staff member is not competent in enteral feeding and the administration of medication through enteral feeding devices.

The registered provider must not admit any new service users who require enteral feeding without the prior written permission of the Care Quality Commission.

The registered provider must carry out a full written assessment as to the competency, skills and fitness of all staff [including bank and agency staff] responsible for enteral feeding and the administration of medication through enteral feeding devices. These assessments are to be provided to the Care Quality Commission by 31 December 2017 and on an ongoing basis for any new staff involved in carrying out these procedures.

The registered provider must only accommodate a maximum of 74 service users at Heatherfield Care Home.
