Overview

Inspection carried out on 28 February 2013

During a routine inspection

Patients we met at Snowberry Lane Clinic said they were "very pleased with the care" and "they've done a great job. The results give me so much more confidence." Patients told us they were given time to discuss their treatment and appointments were relaxed and not rushed. They told us they thought they were carefully assessed, and important information, such as medical history, was recorded and considered.

We found clinic staff understood how to obtain valid consent from people and did this well. Staff made good assessments of people's needs and treated them with professionalism and warmth. Staff were well trained and experienced. They were appraised each year to evaluate their competency and supported with ongoing training and development.

The clinic was clean and well maintained. Staff understood how to prevent and control the spread of infections through hand washing and wearing of protective equipment such as gloves. Any complaints were handled appropriately and professionally.
