Quality ratings for care services
Find out about our quality ratings system to help people make informed choices about their local care services.
Following a key inspection of a service we publish a rating that describes the quality of care it provides.
The ratings scale is:
- 0 stars - poor
- 1 star - adequate
- 2 stars - good
- 3 stars - excellent
How we decide your rating
- How we inspect: the journey towards your quality rating begins with an inspection
- Key lines of regulatory assessment: our guidelines on what a poor, adequate, good or excellent care service looks like
- Outcome descriptions: how we compare the experiences of people who use your service with the national minimum standard outcomes
- Ratings rules: how we work out your rating
