Inspection

The way in which adult social care providers are regulated is fundamentally changing. From 1 October 2010, our new registration system will act as a ‘licence to provide services’ and will replace the current quality assessment. The existing star ratings system will therefore no longer operate after this date.

Any inspections due in the period until the end of September 2010 will now be brought forward and we hope to complete these by the end of June 2010. After June 2010 we will be taking a risk-based approach to inspection, where we consider there may be serious risks to people using services. This may result in a revised rating.

Providers can only request a review for their rating up until 30 September 2010. Find out more.
