Reducing unnecessary bureaucracy
There is concern about the extent of overlap and duplication in the regulation, assessment, inspection and audit of healthcare.
A group of regulators and other key organisations (the Concordat) came together to explore how their work could be better aligned. As part of this, a Provider Advisory Group was put together to give feedback on how the group is reducing the burden of regulation on organisations.
The Provider Advisory Group carried out a review of the amount of overlap and duplication in the standards the different regulation and inspection bodies work to, in an effort to encourage better joint working and better sharing of data and information between bodies.
