Assessing services
We check on the quality of health care services for children and young people in England.
We are committed to ensuring that services for women who are pregnant, children and young people reach essential standards of quality and safety.
We also check that these services are constantly improving.
Working in partnership
At CQC, we oversee all health care for children and young people. Ofsted regulate social care and education for children and young people.
We work closely with Ofsted in all our assessments and inspection in order to make sure services are joined up.
As part of our work together, CQC and Ofsted ensure our programmes are aligned and share our information with each other to improve outcomes for children.
We also work with HMI Prisons and HMI Probation on joint inspections of health services for children and young people. We are committed to working closely with a range of professional and voluntary bodies to share information.
Our reviews and studies
We have published, both as CQC and our legacy commissions, a series of reviews and studies looking at children’s services across a range of areas.
